About

Learn about the Bangladesh Water Transport Coordination Cell.

The Bangladesh Water Transport Coordination Cell (BWTCC) is the central organization responsible for coordinating and managing bulk cargo operations across Bangladesh’s waterways.

Established to streamline the transfer of goods from mother vessels anchored at offshore points to various destination ports and terminals, BWTCC plays a vital role in ensuring smooth, efficient, and cost-effective cargo movement throughout the country.

By working closely with port authorities, lighter vessel operators, importers, and other stakeholders, we ensure that the nation’s maritime logistics system remains transparent, well-organized, and safe.

Our operations support Bangladesh’s growing economy by facilitating continuous trade flow, reducing port congestion, and improving turnaround times for both domestic and international shipping.

Our Core Objectives

• To coordinate and supervise loading and unloading operations of bulk cargo from offshore mother vessels.

• To ensure efficient allocation of lighter vessels and maintain operational transparency.

• To promote safe, eco-friendly, and sustainable water transport practices.

• To strengthen communication and cooperation among all stakeholders in the water transport sector.

At BWTCC, we believe that efficient waterways mean a stronger economy, faster trade, and a better future for Bangladesh.
